Generation Two took Chippewa by storm, they moved to the stadt and off the farm.

Businesses were opened downtown all around,

Music, schuhe at The Hub, hosiery, and tailored clothing could be found.

Tanten Anna and Lucy married local businessmen, Hebert Cigars and F.G. & C.A. Stanley Manufacturing they ran.

At the Metropolitan Block, my Vater helped people invest in the land.

Onkel Frank took the Presidents seat at Northwestern Bank to make sure all was grand.

Walk down the Straben where history stays, and look at the Häuser of earlier days.

From Spruce to Columbia, Dover, Grand, Willow, and Bay, my family’s address book grew as the years rolled away.

But one special house stands high on the list, with a Geschichte of family that shouldn't be missed.

In days gone by, it was a Superior house at 922, within its grand walls, brother Thomas raised a Kind or two.

I continued father’s company with bruder Thomas, but I had a love of nature and land.

Thousands of bäume I planted with my brother, nieces, and nephews by hand.

As County Land Agent, I preserved what was green, shaping public parks where pine trees are seen!

I felt compelled to keep local history alive, helping the Historical Society start up and thrive.
